Portsmouth Youth Football (PYF)
About the Organization
Portsmouth Youth Football (PYF) is a not‑for‑profit organization dedicated to providing a safe, inclusive, and competitive tackle football experience for boys and girls in grades 3–8.
Players from Portsmouth, Greenland, Newington, Newcastle, Rye, Lee, Kittery, Durham, and Madbury are eligible to participate. PYF competes in and is governed by the Northeast Junior High Football League (NJHFL).
Player safety is our top priority. PYF provides all participants with properly fitted equipment that meets national safety standards, and our program is led by committed volunteer coaches and directors who emphasize instruction, encouragement, and positive development in every interaction.
There are no tryouts or experience requirements—every child who registers plays. Our focus is on skill development, teamwork, and learning the game in a supportive environment that values effort and growth over outcomes.
PYF is dedicated to raising the quality and awareness of youth tackle football within our communities while teaching the values of sportsmanship, fair play, discipline, and teamwork. Through football, we strive to help our athletes build confidence, achieve personal goals, become responsible teammates, and develop a lifelong appreciation for both the game and the community they represent.
